Dice Roller: A Practical Guide
Use Dice Roller to draw a number for a D6, D20 or D100. The selected die determines the inclusive range, from one to the number of sides. This is a numerical random draw, not a simulation of a particular physical die.
How to Use Dice Roller
- Choose D6, D20 or D100.
- Select Roll dice.
- Read the result.
- Apply any game modifiers separately unless your rules say otherwise.
One Draw from a Defined Range
D6 means values 1 through 6; D20 means 1 through 20; D100 means 1 through 100. Each run is a separate selection. Repeated values are possible and a previous high roll does not force a low next roll.
The current form does not parse expressions such as 2d6+3 or automatically sum multiple dice. Make additional draws and calculate their total separately when required.
Worked Example
A D20 result of 14 with an agreed +2 modifier gives 16 for the game calculation. The displayed raw roll remains 14.
Two D6 rolls are not equivalent to one D12 draw: their possible totals have a different probability distribution.
Choose another integer interval: use the Random Number Generator.
Make a two-outcome choice: use the Coin Flip.
Checks and Common Mistakes
- Select the correct die.
- Keep raw rolls distinct from modifiers.
- Do not expect automatic multiple-dice notation.
- Follow the agreed game rules for rerolls.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does D100 include zero?
This tool draws from 1 through 100, not 0 through 99.
Can I roll 2d6 at once?
The current selector provides a single die draw; perform and record separate rolls.
Does a streak prove a fault?
Not by itself. Random results can repeat.
