Sign PDF: A Practical Guide
Use Sign PDF to place a visible typed, drawn or uploaded signature mark on a PDF page. This is a visual signing workflow. It does not create a certificate-based digital signature or independently verify a signer’s identity.
How to Use Sign PDF
- Choose the PDF and target page.
- Select Type, Draw or Upload in Signature mode.
- Create the signature and choose its color where offered.
- Choose its position on the preview, run Sign PDF and inspect the saved page.
Visible Marks and Digital Signatures
A signature image or typed name is page content. Certificate-based signatures use a different mechanism for identity and document-integrity validation. Confirm which kind the recipient accepts before using this workflow.
Read the complete document before adding a signature. An uploaded signature image is sensitive reusable material; store and share it deliberately. A long typed name may need careful placement so it does not overlap nearby text.
Worked Example
For a routine approval form, select the final page and place the signature inside the designated line. Check that the name and date fields are also complete.
If the recipient requires a certificate or a managed signing service, a visually signed PDF from this tool does not satisfy that requirement by itself.
Complete supported fields before signing: use the PDF Forms.
Add an explanatory note if appropriate: use the Edit PDF.
Checks and Common Mistakes
- Do not sign content you have not reviewed.
- Keep the signature clear of labels and page edges.
- Do not promise legal acceptance in every jurisdiction.
- Preserve an original copy when an existing digital signature matters.
